Introducing our department.
Department of Health Science, Medical Biotechnology is a convergence of medicine and biotechnology to develop synthetic drugs and biopharmaceuticals. Based on biotechnology, which is the core discipline of the bio-industry, and basic medicine, which is the basic discipline of the bio-health industry, the department aims to contribute to the development of the country and the local economy by fostering specialized talents in medicine through theoretical studies, laboratory and field studies, and systematic and scientific practical training in related disciplines.
In particular, the Department of Health Science, Medical Biotechnology aims to become a leading department in the field of medicine through characterization research and education on pharmaceutical materials that are directly or indirectly related to health, from synthetic new drugs to high-tech new drugs, in preparation for an accelerating aging society.

The goals of the Department of Health Science, Medical Biotechnology are to acquire knowledge of basic science, acquire skills in drug development and biotechnology, strengthen research and problem-solving skills, develop ethical and social responsibility, and enhance communication and collaboration skills.

- Practicum at a pharmaceutical companyDuring the summer and winter vacations, students experience on-the-job training and internships at pharmaceutical companies in Busan, such as Binex and Daewoo Pharmaceutical. You can cultivate more professional skills through continuous field experiences in various facilities.
- Open Lab OperationWe operate open lab tours to introduce students to the research areas of our graduate labs, including the Tumor Immunooncology Lab, Nanotoxicology Lab, Antiviral Lab, Neuroimmunology Lab, and Molecular Pharmacology Lab, and to help them decide on their careers as researchers.
