Introducing our department.

The Department of Fashion Design fosters integrated global fashion designers with the comprehensive practical skills required in the fashion industry through an integrated design education based on design and technology.

The Department of Fashion Design offers major programs covering all fashion-related fields, including design, materials, garment construction, cultural history, social psychology, marketing, and retailing, which are the fundamentals of the fashion industry, and provides hands-on studio education, including integrated practical training, We are doing our best to nurture the professional human resources needed for the global fashion industry.

Educational Goals

Based on professional skills in design, smart technology, and big data analysis and utilization necessary for the fashion industry, we support advanced technology, characterization, specialization, and future-oriented innovation in the fashion field, and develop global IT-integrated human resources who can adapt to changes in the fashion environment due to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs

Distinctive Program

  • Operation of a micro-module systemTo diversify the Fields of Employment: of graduates, the Fashion Business Planning Module and the Smart Fashion Design Module are operated. A certificate can be issued after completing 18 credits of core modules + 18 credits of elective modules.
  • Bio-health regulatory science fusion program operatedOperated to train regulatory science professionals to develop new materials for biohealth-related products and to develop evaluation methods and standards for product efficacy, safety, quality, and performance. Multiple degrees can be earned by taking at least 36 credits in the fusion major.
  • Operation of Practice RoomsWe operate multiple practice rooms, including a basic design practice room, display practice room, garment construction practice room, and CAD/CAM practice room, to improve the practical on-site skills of current students.

    Not at all. The Department of Fashion Design at University of Dong-A has adopted a variety of admission methods to realize an integrated design education.
