Dept. of Meterials Science and Engineering
Introducing our department.
The department educates students to manufacture new materials in response to the rapidly developing modern scientific and technological civilization, to understand the characteristics and microstructure of new materials, and to develop and apply new materials that meet the properties required under actual conditions of use.
The department trains human resources to lead the 21st century and plays a central role in the metal new materials industry, and furthermore, it is widely used in society at large and serves as the foundation for future technological industries. The fields in which new materials engineering is required include semiconductors, automobile and aircraft parts, and shipbuilding and machinery shelves, and new materials and advanced metal alloys are widely used in society at large.
In undergraduate education, efforts are made to produce competent engineers through a variety of basic theoretical education, experimental education, and on-site training, and in graduate education, technological development to create new materials is carried out in cooperation with industrial entities and research institutes.
Educational Goals
To develop human resources with the moral character and professionalism required in industrial settings as members of society.
- Reinforcement of basic engineering studies that form the foundation of materials
- Cultivate the ability to acquire specialized knowledge in the field of materials
- Reinforcement of field-adaptability skills that can be immediately applied to practical work
- Cultivate a sense of professional and moral responsibility and cooperative spirit
