Introducing our department.
The Department of Environmental Engineering was approved as the Department of Sanitary Engineering (Environmental Engineering) in 1966 and was the first of its kind in Japan, with the aim of training environmental engineers in industry by providing them with a basic understanding of environmental pollution and the engineering technology necessary to control environmental pollution. The Department of Environmental Engineering deals with air management and control, water quality management, drinking water supply, sewage and wastewater treatment, soil environment conservation, waste disposal, and environmental safety, which are essential for human life, as well as various issues that constitute an overall environmental information system to ensure a better standard of living.
Educational Goals
In addition to theoretical research, this major pursues theoretical and practical problem-solving through design, laboratory practice, and field trips in order to deal with the global environmental crisis and environmental industry that we currently face and will face in the future.
Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs
Distinctive Program
- Environmental Public Corporation Educational Field Training During the summer and winter vacations, students will experience on-site training at Busan Environmental Public Corporation, Marine Environmental Public Corporation, and other facilities. Through continuous on-site experience at various facilities, students can develop more specialized skills.
- Laboratory Operations Research and practical training can be conducted in various laboratories related to the environment in general, such as the atmospheric environment laboratory, soil laboratory, and water quality environment laboratory.
- Conducting Industry Visits Visits to environmentally related companies to acquire specialized knowledge and inspect actual operating facilities enhance the real-world skills of current students.

Green NareGreen Nare is a club of "Kajitsu-ren" in the Department of Environmental Engineering, University of Dong-A. Kajitsuren" is a "national coalition for the realization of a just scientific and technological society. It is a circle that can contribute to the realization of a righteous scientific and technological society by performing environmental service and educational service for young people, and participating in academic forums. It is also a circle where circle members also study together related to their majors, discuss various topics, and engage in other activities for self-development. Green Nare" is a pure Korean word meaning wings as beautiful as green.

Quilberos This is a circle of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Quilberos. It is a club where environmental engineering students who are interested in soccer gather to create a healthy body and united senior-senior relationship through soccer.
