Dept. of Economics

Introducing our department.

Economics is the only discipline in the social sciences that has been awarded the Nobel Prize for its rigorous logic and rationality.

In a nutshell, economics finds and studies ways to appropriately solve economic and social problems that arise in the process of allocating limited resources.

The department offers a wide range of economics seminars and operates a practical economics education program that allows students to discuss, research, and present economic issues by topic.

Educational Goals

Every human being will lead an economic life, and in this life, due to the scarcity of goods, they will face the economic problems of poverty and distribution. Therefore, the economic objective of the state is to achieve the maximum happiness of the many through efficient resource allocation and fair income distribution. To realize this objective, four economic goals must be achieved: price stability, full employment, stable growth, and balance of payments equilibrium.

IN-OUT.As an entrepreneurship circle in the Economics Department created in 2018, we participate in government-supported projects and various contests. Some of our members have actually started their own businesses, while others have found employment without starting a business. Those who have not started their own businesses have created competitive specs based on their experience in the Entrepreneurship Circle (writing business plans, selecting vendors, sales, etc.), joined the company, and are now in various Fields of Employment.

When entering a doctoral program in the U.S., graduate students receive the title of Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant and are fully exempt from tuition, health insurance, and other expenses. In addition, they receive a salary ($17,000~$23,000/year) that is sufficient to live on each month, allowing them to devote themselves to their studies without worrying about living expenses.
