Dept. of Semiconductors

Introducing our department.

The Department of Semiconductor Science deals with academic fields integrated with traditional physics such as the field of new materials, semiconductor physics, and electronic devices, including academic fields that support the semiconductor industry field such as semiconductor materials, semiconductor processes, semiconductor devices, and semiconductor modules, with the aim of cultivating practical people with creative abilities armed with knowledge of semiconductors and natural sciences. The department aims to nurture practical human resources with creative abilities armed with knowledge of semiconductors and the natural sciences. To this end, the department has a full-time faculty composed of experts in fields ranging from materials to systems, as well as sufficient equipment available for research and teaching in this field. This supports the academic enthusiasm of current students and prepares them for entry into industry and graduate school.

Educational Goals

The program offers a curriculum necessary for the semiconductor industry, including semiconductor properties, materials, processes, devices, and systems, and fosters human resources with a new fusion of natural science and engineering technology.

Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs

Distinctive Program

  • Lectures on career paths for senior graduatesOur department's graduating seniors will directly share their experiences of post-graduation graduate school life, job preparation, and corporate life in a vivid way, with time for questions and answers, and time to explore and worry about their career paths.
  • Laboratory managementOperate an electronics laboratory, an optoelectronics laboratory, a semiconductor process laboratory, a plasma laboratory, and a nano semiconductor laboratory to improve research and experimental capabilities into the major field.

Departmental Club

  • 01

RotaractThe department's service club has been in existence since 1989 and has a steady stream of service activities each month. Rotaract is a community service activity sponsored by the Rotary Club, and there are many Rotaract clubs in other universities besides Toa University, which interact with each other and perform various activities besides service. We invite graduating seniors to the Founders' Festival with current students, go on overseas exchanges to study in Japan, and gain a lot of other experiences.

  • 02

PRS(Physical Research Society)This is a club for students who want to explore the discipline of physics. The club offers students the opportunity to participate in contests related to their majors, activities related to employment, and experiences related to their career paths.
