Introducing our department.

Civil Engineering is a field that develops the engineering knowledge necessary to plan, design, construct, and manage public facilities to facilitate the economic and cultural activities of the people.

It plays a social role related to the construction of traditional civil engineering structures (bridges, dams, roads, tunnels, subways, etc.), facilities for the urban environment (sewage treatment, landfills, etc.), construction for securing electrical energy to improve the quality of life (power plants, wind power, etc.), and smart cities integrated with the IoT.

The program conveys knowledge and develops human resources based on major classes on detailed fields such as structure, water supply and sewage, water engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering, and surveying.

Educational Goals

The program trains students to acquire basic theories and specialized skills in the field of construction and to become professional construction workers who can actively respond to the rapidly changing future society and contribute to the development of the nation and local communities.

Distinctive Program

  • Fusion MajorA new major in a new field of study that combines the curricula of two or more departments, allowing students to earn degrees in multiple majors and to be exposed to a variety of departments and disciplines in today's society, where the need for fusion-type human resources is emerging.
  • On-site Practical TrainingDuring the summer and winter vacations, we provide opportunities for students to gain practical experience in the field in cooperation with companies.

    Stepping-stoneStepping-stone, as a civil engineering academic research group within the Department of Civil Engineering, is an academic gathering of undergraduate students who are interested in and knowledgeable about the structural field. The main activities of the society include organizing the Society's own site visits and research presentation and discussion meetings in the first half of the year, and the Model Bridge Contest held on Civil Engineering Marine Day in the second half of the year.

    Waterwheel Children's HouseWaterwheel Douches was newly founded in 2018. The Department of Civil Engineering is divided into various majors, and this club is for students interested in hydrology, water and wastewater engineering to come together to research and explore. The ultimate goal is employment, and the club recruits new alumni with strict criteria.

    TAUTAU is a soccer circle that was founded in 1996 and has been active up to the present. Although it has a short history, it is a soccer circle that has raised many championship cups and gained fame not only in the Faculty of Engineering but also in the various faculties of University of Dong-A. Tau is a circle that will forever continue its insatiable love and passion for soccer and its pride and pride as a member of the Department of Civil Engineering. As long as the Department of Civil Engineering exists, Tau will continue forever, and their passion will transform the Department of Civil Engineering into the best department in the College of Engineering, and the fame of Tau will be high.
