Introducing our department.
elcome to the Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering, University of Dong-A. The Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering at University of Dong-A was established in 1967 under the name of the Department of Industrial Management, and is the oldest department among the Industrial Engineering/Industrial Systems Engineering/Industrial Management Engineering departments in Korean universities.
Industrial Management Engineering can be described as a discipline that integrates the humanities and sciences, blending management strategies with scientific principles. While other engineering fields study specialized techniques and principles, industrial management engineering is a discipline that integrates managerial perspectives with scientific theories to analyze problems and derive and apply rational methods. In particular, it utilizes artificial intelligence and other technologies to solve complex problems that arise in various areas such as manufacturing, logistics, transportation, hospitals, and national defense in the fourth industrial age.
Educational Goals
- Develop the ability to analyze and solve complex real-world problems.
- Cultivate the ability to analyze engineering and design systems by utilizing a variety of knowledge in management, mathematics, and science.
- Cultivate the ability to manage industrial systems composed of resources, data, and people.
