Introducing our department.

elcome to the Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering, University of Dong-A. The Department of Industrial & Management Systems Engineering at University of Dong-A was established in 1967 under the name of the Department of Industrial Management, and is the oldest department among the Industrial Engineering/Industrial Systems Engineering/Industrial Management Engineering departments in Korean universities.

Industrial Management Engineering can be described as a discipline that integrates the humanities and sciences, blending management strategies with scientific principles. While other engineering fields study specialized techniques and principles, industrial management engineering is a discipline that integrates managerial perspectives with scientific theories to analyze problems and derive and apply rational methods. In particular, it utilizes artificial intelligence and other technologies to solve complex problems that arise in various areas such as manufacturing, logistics, transportation, hospitals, and national defense in the fourth industrial age.

    What will you learn?

    (1) The Production Systems Division, which seeks to efficiently control the entire production system and improve individual processes through the analysis and design of the manufacturing processes that produce home appliances, automobiles, and other products necessary for daily life.
    (2) The Information Systems Division analyzes and designs information systems for enterprise resource planning (ERP), which is based on databases, communication networks, data communications, and Internet technologies, and for e-business, which has recently gained prominence, and applies this to production technology.
    (3) The Human-Machine Systems Division, which ensures the convenience and safety of people and makes it easy and convenient for people to use machines and computers.
    (4) Systems Integration and Analysis Section, which studies various theories and means commonly applicable to the analysis and design of systems and methodologies for the integration of individual systems. After enrolling in the Department of Children's Studies, students take the courses required to qualify as a nursery teacher/kindergarten teacher (including practical training in childcare/education).
