Dept. of Food Biotechnology

Introducing our department.

The Department of Food and Bioengineering started in 1988 as the Department of Agricultural Chemistry in the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology and was reorganized in the College of Life Science and Resources in the late 1990s to become a leading department in the field of biotechnology.

In addition to this, the department changed its name to the Department of Food and Bioengineering in the 2020 academic year to reflect the era in which the food processing industry is leading the recovery, and positioned itself as a department that trains food and bioengineers with expertise in the field of food and bioengineering who will lead the development of 21st century society.

In particular, the department consists of basic subjects for the lower Class of students and applied subjects for the upper Class of students. The department operates practical tracks related to specialized knowledge and techniques, product development and production, and safety, based on theory, experiment, and practice, to cultivate food-related personnel who are strong in the industrial field.
