The Department of Biomedical Sciences of Dong-A University was established in 1979 and has produced outstanding graduates who have advanced into major fields of medical and biotechnology industries at home and abroad for several decades..
The Department of Biomedical Sciences is one of the most promising core advanced science and technology fields that will lead the 21st century and serve as the foundation of national competitiveness. The department educates students in diverse scientific and technological theories and experiments by professors conducting world-class research in genomics, tumor biology, regenerative medicine, biochemistry, metabolism, immunology, and medical and life information science, and fuses medical and life science approaches to foster logical and rational scientific thinking. The program aims to nurture professional medical and life science personnel who will lead future advanced scientific fields by fusing medical and life science approaches and cultivating logical and rational scientific thinking.
Educational Goals
The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of East Asia, based on experimental classes, laboratory internships, and graduate school entrance, is a discipline that aims to understand systematically and explore the essence of various life phenomena occurring in living organisms for healthy living, which is the wish of mankind, as well as the mechanisms, treatment and overcoming of various diseases such as cancer, aging, inflammation and infectious diseases by applying clinical medical viewpoint and applied research, in addition to basic medical characteristics.

Science Celebration Program
- DAU Lin (Dau Lin) Major Experience Program (2023.07.07.)During the summer vacation, the Department of Biomedical Science will host the Major Experience Program, in which students can learn about the major research fields of each laboratory by experiencing experiments such as animal and plant cell observation, gDNA extraction from blood, and DNA electrophoresis, and by visiting seven department laboratories.
- OPEN LAB Program (2023.11.08.)At the end of the semester, the Department of Biomedical Sciences sponsors seven lab introductions and lab tours for new students. In order to help students design their own career paths before they finish their freshman year, the program provides an opportunity to experience experiments in each laboratory and communicate with graduate students to gain information that will help them in their career paths in a realistic way.
- Research Credit System (during each semester)This system allows students to explore major-related career paths and earn credits through in-depth major education through laboratory and experimental experiences away from classroom theory classes.
- Research Institute⦁ndustrial On-Site Practicum The Department of Biomedical Sciences, a participating department in the LINC 3.0 project, will conduct a corporate on-site training program based on the on-site training experience to help students prepare for future employment or further education.
- Science Celebration Program We provide a wide range of hands-on opportunities throughout the Science Celebration, and we plan and implement programs that allow visitors to enjoy more events and to see the research results and science and technology of our organization.

Longhorned BeetleThrough outdoor insect collecting outside the school, this circle distinguishes the difference between theoretical lectures taught in the department and actual insects and other organisms, and deepens friendship with students in the Longevity Amakusa Circle, which consists of current students in the Biomedical Sciences Department.
