Departmental FAQsFeel Free to Ask Anything

  • Q

When is the selection of a detailed major made?

In the freshman program, students take classes without major classification, and when they enter the sophomore program, they choose the major that best suits their aptitude from among Product Space Design and Visual Media Design.

  • Q

What is the most important thing in getting a job at a design firm?

A portfolio of your work. Due to the nature of the work at design firms, in most cases we look at the tendencies of a student's work to determine whether or not they are a good fit for the firm's design work.

  • Q

Is language important for design majors?

Through our department's unique exchange student program, students can pursue their design studies abroad in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries, and we encourage students to study abroad. For this reason, language grades are essential.
