Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

Introducing our department.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering plays a central role in various industrial fields such as automobiles, aircraft, robotics, and energy systems, conducting research and technology development to improve the efficiency, reliability, stability, and economy of machines and mechanical systems.

n addition, with the recent growing interest in sustainable technology and energy efficiency, research on renewable energy, environmentally friendly machinery and systems, etc., is also being actively pursued. Students will acquire the ability to develop innovative technologies and solutions in a variety of industrial fields.

Educational Goals

In order to educate creative engineers who are in charge of the development and research of machinery-related industries, which are the core of industrialized technology, and to develop human resources who will contribute to the development of local society and industry, the educational objectives of the program are to develop specialized design personnel, develop practical fusion engineers, develop technical personnel who can actively respond to the 4th industry, and develop exemplary technical personnel. All educational programs are designed with the following goals in mind: to develop human resources who can contribute to regional society and industry.

Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs

Distinctive Program

  • Start-up Idea ContestA program in which the department promotes its own business start-up idea contest, provides students with opportunities to develop an interest in business start-ups, propose creative ideas, and present them proactively, and awards prizes to outstanding teams in order to evaluate students' business start-up ideas, confirm the possibility of commercialization, and increase motivation for business start-ups.
  • Logistics Automation Robot ContestWith the development of the contactless industry with the new COVID-19, the demand for logistics automation systems utilizing unmanned mobile vehicles is rapidly increasing. Against this background, students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering will use their major knowledge to develop the operating principles of unmanned logistics systems and programs that can utilize these principles.

New WomenSayosa is the only discussion group in the College of Engineering. It is where we try to overcome the "passive human type" that mechanical engineering alumni tend to have through regular discussions: knowledgeable but not confident enough to criticize. Through discussion, students can learn about current common sense, logical storytelling, and communicative speech. (Location of the club room : Engineering Bldg. 1, P1428)

D.M.SDong-A Mechanical-study Star (D.M.S.) is a society belonging to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. In 2002, M.S. started to study R/C aircraft construction and aeronautics, and has built various aircrafts. Based on this, we build our own R/C aircraft every year and participate in the National University Student Model Aircraft Competition.

COSOur course is a gathering that seeks to unite and unite the machine people through the medium of soccer. In the past, Korea has surprised the whole world by bringing out the unity and solidarity of its people through the World Cup. In the same way, we try to unite the mechanical people through soccer. We are proud that the strength of our circle is our broad human network and the cohesiveness of our members. We are proud that the Course is such a circle where people who love soccer get together, kick a ball together, exchange their ideas and values, and develop together. To join the course, all you need is a love of soccer and a love of people.

G.N.OGNO, a society of mechanical engineering, started in 1991 under the name of Pencil and Triangle and changed its name to GNO in 1994. We also control the movement of mechanisms through microcontrollers and understand the driving principles of machine tools (Mechatronics) to manufacture them. The ultimate goal of the conference is to design, fabricate, and control using computers.
