Dept. of Sociology

Introducing our department.

As a department that constitutes the academic foundation of social science, the Department of Sociology diagnoses and prescribes hidden causes of social problems that are not readily apparent by taking a new look at various social phenomena we come into contact with in our daily lives through "sociological imagination" and revealing the meaning behind them.

Specifically, we scientifically explore social phenomena from the aspects of the relationship between society and individuals, population and family, social organization, work and occupation, popular culture, social movements, social structure and social change, and propose alternatives.

Educational Goals

Based on the basic theories of sociology, the program trains professionals in the field of social sciences through theory and practical training in specialized fields such as social research and analysis, psychology and counseling, local social issues, culture, and applied fields.

  • Acquisition of practical expertise for social analysis
  • Comprehensive and balanced perception of social change
  • To cultivate specialists in the field of social sciences who can contribute to local communities through the cultivation of desirable civic moral character.
