Dept. of Chemistry
Introducing our department.
Chemistry is a fundamental science that studies the properties and reactions of matter experimentally and theoretically.
The development of new pharmaceuticals linked to the development of life sciences and the development of chemical fertilizers necessary for the cultivation of food produced sustainably regardless of climate are representative advanced application fields based on chemical knowledge and technology.
The Department of Chemistry offers diverse courses in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and nanochemistry, along with experimental courses.
Students interested in the principles governing the properties and changes of matter and who wish to apply these principles to advanced scientific and technological developments should give this field a good try.
Educational Goals
The Department of Chemistry aims to nurture professionals who will contribute to the development of the nation and regional economies through systematic and scientific practical education through theoretical studies, experiments, and practical training in various chemistry majors and related disciplines such as life, chemistry, and physics.
Introducing Our Department's Distinctive Programs
Distinctive Program
Laboratory Internship for Undergraduates
Open Lab Program Management
Operation of an employment circle for undergraduate biochemistry-related qualifications
Knowledge sharing mentor (graduate student)-mentee (undergraduate student) program operation
- Laboratory Internship for Undergraduates (2.7.2023.)Students will experience an internship in a department laboratory during the summer and winter breaks. Students can participate in research projects conducted by the characterization professors and develop practical professional skills and knowledge.
- Open Lab Program Management (2022.11.30.)Invite majors in related fields to explain what are the essential competencies to enter their field. In addition, students can listen to presentations of research in progress in each laboratory and strengthen their motivation to apply to graduate school through strengthening their research competencies.
- Operation of an employment circle for undergraduate biochemistry-related qualifications (2022.10.) Study organization and activity support for the acquisition of chemistry-related qualifications in order to strengthen students' employability skills. Support for experimental materials and opening of laboratories for the preparation of practical examinations, for the efficiency and convenience of students' job-hunting activities.
- Knowledge sharing mentor (graduate student)-mentee (undergraduate student) program operation (2022.10.)This is a knowledge-sharing culture diffusion program to share graduate students' knowledge and grow together. The program will help undergraduate students improve their research and academic skills, while at the same time sharing a graduate student-undergraduate student bond and sense of belonging.
